JOCA has regulation and processing standards for certification of organic cotton products that are processed in Japan out of imported raw cotton or yarn/fabric. JOCA also has a mark for labeling on certified end-use products and has prepared three kinds of tags with the mark, such as "PURE", "PURE dyed/printed" and "BLEND". Labeling of certified organic cotton products that are trusted by consumer must be a key-point for marketing them.

For Japan imports all raw cotton, it is important for JOCA to confirm certification of organic cotton certified by qualified certifiers at the countries of origin. At the same time, JOCA is to check the process from spinning to end-use in Japan under the JOCA standards. It is very important to keep consumers confidence in JOCA certification and labeling. In future, it is needed that JOCA standards for processing would be consistent with the standards in USA and EU.
